Description:

Our second and final day in the Loch Ness area, which saw us wake to more snow and temperatures of around -6C. Thankfully the area is prepared for such weather, so we were soon at Glenurquhart Primary school for a packed day of activities for the whole school .. all 135 of them. We kicked off the day talking to the P1-2 class about the Earth, Sun and Moon. Lots of good questions as always, and a surprising degree of knowledge. We then ran our Stars and Constellations module in multiple sessions for the whole of P3-7. We ended the morning with a Nature of Light session for all P4-7 in the main school hall. The afternoon was equally busy, but this time we ran our Solar System module with the P1-4 class groups, and were surprised at how well the younger pupils coped, albeit with a little adaptation.

The day finished with a Space Exploration talk to those in P3 and above in the main hall. Interesting to note how much we have to change the talk each month or two, to include all the new discoveries that are being announced every few days. Once the pupils had dissapeared, it was time to load up and head south along Loch Ness towards Fort William … and on toward home.
