Final team trip to Jersey

Our final trip as a team saw Scott and Chris head to Jersey for two school visits and a community event. Due to the lack of ferry on a Sunday, Chris (with car and equipment) had to catch the early morning Condor ferry out of Poole, which arrived in St. Helier at lunchtime, following a slightly lumpy channel crossing. The above image of La Corbière Lighthouse was taken whilst awaiting Scott’s flight on the Monday ahead of our first school visit to Mont Nicolle Primary School the following day. We spent a full and busy day on Tuesday (22nd October) working with the Year 5 and Year 6 classes on a variety of workshops. First Tower Primary School was the destination for our Wednesday visit, and proved to be another busy day spitting our time between the 132 pupils in Year 3, 5 and 6. Delighted to see such huge enthusiasm and knowledge on display from the pupils, with more than the usual amount intending to pursue a career in space. It was then time to bid farewell to Scott at the airport, however, because to return ferry was not until the afternoon, Chris was able to run a morning community event at St George’s School, who were kind enough to provide facilities to run a Destination Mars session, with a Stars and Constellations activity for the younger attendees. Once packed, it was a mad dash back to St Helier for the return trip to Poole and onward to home.
